Sebastian's Passions
Thursday 14 April 2016, 7pm
The Romanian Cultural Institute, 1 Belgrave Square
Join us for an exhilarating evening celebrating the publication of Mihail Sebastian's 'For Two Thousand Years', a prescient interwar masterpiece of resilience and revelation, in the Penguin Classics series. The event will follow the great author's life and work through an insightful conversation with celebrated philosopher, author and journalist Andrei Cornea, translator and writer of the book Philip Ó Ceallaigh, and editor Casiana Ioniţă.

The discussion will be followed by a concert offered by Forna Quartet, presenting a selection from the classical repertoire of Sebastian's most beloved pieces.

Concert programme:
1. J. S. Bach Selection from the Art of Fugue
2. W. A. Mozart String Quartet No. 19 in C Major 'Dissonance' 4th Movement
3. F. Schubert String Quartet in D minor, D810 'Death and the Maiden'
4. M. Ravel String Quartet in F major 3rd Movement
5. C. Debussy String Quartet in E minor 1st Movement

Followed by a glass of wine.

Free entry. Please book in advance if you wish to attend.
