This year's first concert in the 'Enescu Concerts' Series offers an exceptional encounter with two brilliant pianists, Romanian Mihai Ritivoiu and Bulgarian Evgeny Genchev, reunited under the aegis of the composers who have authored some of the most fascinating, memorable piano pieces ever scored.

The event is organised in partnership with
Keyboard Charitable Trust.

Cultural Romania - An Intercultural Celebration
Friday 15 January 2016, 1-9 pm | RCI London, free

Join us, from noon to dusk, in our celebrations dedicated to Romania's Culture Day, with a series of events exulting the richness of traditions that make up the Romanian soul through poetry, film and music. Featuring Cristina Catalina, Levente Molnar, Dragoş Teglaş and Anda Teglaş.

 'At the Gates of the Sky', a bonanza of traditional gems orchestrated by the beloved folk bard, Grigore Leșe, will be screened live from the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, followed by a demonstration of the multilingual richness of Romania's poetic tradition with actors Cristina Catalina and Levente Molnar, reading exultant verses by Mihai Eminescu, Nikolaus Lenau and Ady Endre.

The evening will peak with the UK premiere of '13 Shades of Romanian', an encounter with the Romanians whose talents and enthusiasm make Britain a vibrant, inclusive society, followed by a Q&A with the creative team behind it.

Accompanied by a glass of Romanian wine.

1pm/ Study and play: a discovery of Romanian culture
5pm/ Live streaming from the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest: 'At the Gates of the Sky', featuring Grigore Leşe
7pm/ Poetry readings with actors Cristina Catalina and Levente Molnar: a selection of poems by Mihai Eminescu, Nikolaus Lenau and 
Ady Endre
7:30pm/ Film screening: '13 Shades of Romanian' + Q&A with Senior Editor Dragoş Teglaş and Creative Director Anda Teglaş
8:30pm/ Wine reception
