From Gospel to Soul - Special Music Event
Friday 17 October 2008
My choir is performing THIS Friday evening 17th of Oct, at the V&A Museum in a free concert, starting at 6.30 in the Raphael Rooms. We (Morley College Gospel Choir) will start singing at 8.30 after the London Community Gospel Choir. There will be some songs that we all know, like "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" which the audience will be invited to join in. It would be great to have you there - feel free to bring friends, this should be a fun night out with inspiring music (and for free, to cheer us up in crunch times).

Many Motown singers 'cut their teeth' in the church, including Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Martha Reeves. Motown artists embraced the spiritual harmonies learnt through Gospel music and embedded these into the Motown Sound. This evening's performances take you back to the roots of Motown.

LYRIC HAMMERSMITH-SPYSKI!
SPYSKI! is a fast-paced comedy about spies, state secrets and seemingly hopeless sleuths. If you enjoyed the films Hot Fuzz or Austin Powers, or ever fancied yourself as a secret agent (move over James Bond!), then this is the show for you. The company making the show is called Peeploykus (pronounced people-like-us) and their last show The Hound of the Baskervilles was a hit in the West End. The show is suitable for anyone over the age of 12. For any of you that came to see Beauty and the Beast last Christmas, you might also recognise actor Javier Marzan, who played Beauty’s best friend Kronenberg – but in a very different role this time! Please have a look at the enclosed flyer for more information.
We have few FREE tickets.
Please contact or SMS Ionela Flood on 075 15 25 35 84, for bookings.
