Dear Madam, Dear Sir, At its 538th plenary session, held on 17 and 18 October 2018, the European Economic and Social Committee adopted the following opinion, available in all language versions: The EESC holds the view that Europe is a cultural community based on shared values and that the social market economy is a hallmark of the European way of life. It also considers it vital to consolidate and develop the EU cultural dimension based on the common values enshrined in the Treaties.
Yours sincerely, Christa Schweng President of the Section for Employment, Social Affairs and Citizenship (SOC)
