Noi, la Romani in UK, am sarbatorit anul acesta 20 de ani de activitate online. Asa ca acum la final de an, te invitam sa ne fi alaturi virtual, pe Zoom. Te invitam la o seara magica caritabila de decembrie alaturi de oameni frumosi:    Romanian Diaspora Fundraiser 2020, Sambata 12 Decembrie la ora 7 seara.   Nume celebre si mai putin celebre dar cu un zambet mare si generozitate vor fi alaturi sa va aduca aproape, chiar daca ne intalnim virtual. Dupa 30 de ani, Casa Ioana este locul lui si al unor voluntari minunati care creaza o lume mai buna pentru copii si femei ce aleg sa plece din abuz si sa isi croiasca un drum nou parasind saracia, un agresor si tot ceea ce au- cacai asta este de cele mai multe ori realitatea in care traiesc cei care ajung la ONG-ul unde se simt in siguranta.  Ian Tilling a jucat un rol esential in infiintarea adaposturilor in Bucuresti, initial pentru orfani iar mai tarziu pentru persoane fara adapost si apoi pentru familii ce sufereau de abuzuri domestice.  A venit in Romania dupa ce a vazut imaginile copiilor din orfelinate care au facut inconjurul lumii, cu ajutoare alaturi de o asistenta medicala cu provizii si donatii medicale. Ceea ce a vazut in orfelinatul de la Plataresti, unde a ajuns atunci langa copii aliniati in celebrele paturi etajate cu zabrele l-a marcat atat de mult incat a revenit cu o impresionanta echipa de voluntari si ajutoare iar in anul 1992 s-a pensionat si a revenit la Bucuresti.  A vazut probabil Romania aceea care multi dintre noi, ne-a determinat sa o parasim cautand o viata in alta tara, s-a lovit de coruptia Bucurestiului si in ciuda multor promisiuni incalcate ale autoritatilor locale nu a renuntat. A trait in Ferentari inr-unul din blocurile lasate in paragina alaturi de copiii strazii o iarna si desi nu doar odata a fost indemnat de prieteni sa renunte si sa se intoarca in Anglia, nu a renuntat ci a continuat, gasind o forta imensa pentru a merge mai departe pentru a ajuta o mana de oameni vulnerabili, copii ai strazii.  Decorat de Regina Angliei si de Presedentia Romaniei pentru munca sa caritabila in Bucuresti, Ian Tilling la cei 70 de ani ai sai a vopsit si reparat cot la cot cu alti voluntari cladirea delapidata unde Casa Ioana s-a nascut.    Astazi ONG-ul reprezinta cel mai mare centru de adapost pentru victimele abuzurilor domestice din Bucuresti insa anul acesta bugetul si activitatea au fost mult reduse. In vremuri de criza donatiile care in Romania oricum se aduna cu greu s-au diminuat mult. 80% din fonduri vin din donatii private si doar 20% din fondurile ONG-urile sunt suportate de statul roman. Lipsa banilor inseamna o incetare a ajutorului pentru cei care depind de Casa Ioana intr-o perioada foarte vulnerabila a vietii.  De ce am ales sa donam ONG-ului Casa Ioana? Ian Tilling traieste la Bucuresti din pensia sa de politist din Anglia, si de peste 25 de ani ajuta neconditionat oameni vulnerabili si pierduti. Fara a se da batut. ONG-ul Casa Ioana schimba vieti, copiii intra in sistemul de educatie si mamele sunt ajutate sa gaseasca joburi, sa se intretina, si sa stranga bani suficienti pentru a putea sa inchirieze o locuinta pentru ele si copii lor. La plecare sunt alti oameni, caci se pot intretine si incep o viata noua. In locul lor, vin alte mame si copii. Presedintele Klaus Iohannis a semnat , marti, decretul de decorare a artistului Bogdan Mihai Radu, potrivit unui comunicat al Administratiei Prezidentiale. Acesta va fi inmanat in cadrul unei ceremonii la Ambasada Romaniei in Marea Britanie alaturi de ceilalti artisti decorati.
Pictorul Bogdan Mihai Radu, un nume cu rezonanta in lumea culturala si artistica atat din Romania cat si de peste hotare, locuieste la Londra de aproximativ 3 ani unde continua sa creeze opere de arta apreciate la nivel mondial.
Munca artistului a fost onorata in Marea Britanie, acesta primind prestigiosul trofeu Oxford International Art Fair in 2018, aducand un aport important imaginii Romaniei in UK.
