The Portal was launched by TSRC at the British Library, at an event to showcase the first three years of work by the Centre. It has been built in partnership with the British Library and funded by £200,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.  Access the portal now  or go to www.tsrc.ac.uk. A one-stop knowledge resource, the Portal brings together evidence on a range of subjects  including policy, social and economic impact and funding and will help inform the work of researchers, policymakers, academics, frontline service providers and other VCS stakeholders across the country. Goals 

Increasing environmental performances have become a priority requirement in the economic activity. The papers presented within the debates of the first three editions of the conference, PEEC 2008, 2009, and 2010 revealed, on the one hand, the complexity of problems, and, on the other hand, the variety of results. Meanwhile, there were enlightened numerous controversial aspects that need the confrontation of theoretical results with the practice of ecological policy elaboration and implementation in the continuously changing economic context.

Considering these evolutions, and also the severe restrains brought by the economic crisis the PEEC 2011 envisages: Firstly to create premises for researchers, academics and public administration representatives, businessmen, and consultants to share their experience and expectations, learning from each other. 

Secondly, the conference pursues to raise the awareness level regarding the activities needed for the environmental compliance and the advantages of going beyond it. 

A better correlation of educational and research objectives in a priority interest field represents the third objective of the conference. Thus, it is envisaged to identify competencies and information needed for a competitive ecological economy through collating different socio-professional categories. 

APPLICATION

You could apply by sending your paper in extenso to the peec2008@yahoo.com address. 

In the message transmitted for application, please provide the full names, affiliations, and email addresses of authors, indicating the contact author. 

Maximum two papers will be accepted for any participant as author or co-author.

The paper will be edited according to the specifications found in TemplantePEEC2011eng.doc document, available at www.eam.ase.ro, respectively:

Obiective

Creşterea performanţelor ecologice a devenit o cerinţă prioritară în activitatea economică. Lucrările prezentate în cadrul dezbaterilor de la primele trei ediţii ale conferinţei, PEEC 2008, 2009 şi 2010 au dezvăluit, pe de o parte, complexitatea problemelor, iar, pe de altă parte, varietatea rezolvărilor. În acelaşi timp, au fost evidenţiate numeroase aspecte controversate a căror soluţionare necesită confruntarea rezultatelor teoretice cu practica elaborării şi implementării politicilor ecologice în contextul economic aflat în continuă transformare.  

Ţinând cont de aceste evoluţii, precum şi de restricţiile severe aduse de criza economică, conferinţa PEEC 2011, îşi propune, în primul rând, să creeze premisele pentru ca cercetătorii, reprezentanţii mediului universitar şi administraţiei publice, oamenii de afaceri şi consultanţii să îşi împărtăşească experienţele şi aşteptările, învăţând unii de la alţii.

În al doilea rând, conferinţa urmăreşte să crească nivelul de conştientizare privind activităţile pe care le presupune asigurarea conformităţii de mediu şi avantajele posibile ale depăşirii acesteia.

Corelarea mai bună a obiectivelor educaţionale şi de cercetare într-un domeniu de interes prioritar reprezintă al treilea obiectiv al conferinţei. Astfel, se urmăreşte identificarea competenţelor şi informaţiilor ştiinţifice necesare pentru o economie ecologică competitivă prin confruntarea dintre diferite categorii socio-profesionale.

Program

Lucrările conferinţei se vor susţine atât în sesiune plenară, cât şi în secţiuni paralele.

Conferinţa PEEC 2011 se va desfăşura în Bucureşti, la Academia de Studii Economice. 

Toate informaţiile necesare privind sosirea şi cazarea participanţilor, universitatea gazdă şi repartizarea lucrărilor pe secţiuni vor fi comunicate în timp util.

please apologise me for the wrong name in the previous message. We would like to inform you about the "New Perspective for Science Education" International Conference which will take place in Florence,(Italy),  on 8 – 9 March 2012.
 
The objective of the conference  is to promote the sharing of good practice and transnational cooperation in the field of innovation for Science Education. The conference is also an excellent opportunity for the presentation of previous and current projects in the field of science.
 
The Call for Papers is addressed to science teachers and experts as well as to coordinators of science projects and initiatives.
 
We would like to encourage you to submit an abstract of a paper to present during the conference. The abstract should be written in English (300 words) and sent via e-mail to science@pixel-online.net no later than 14 November 2011.

London’s Voluntary and Community Sector in partnership with Europe to promote Social Inclusion October 2011
ESF Community Grants launches in 5 boroughs
London Councils have now taken over responsibility for co-financing Community Grants in London under the 2011-13 phase of the ESF programme and are pleased to announce the launch of a new funding round which is worth £2.65 million which will be invested in supporting those Londoners who are furthest from the labour market.   The programme remains focused on small, local voluntary and community groups who have the grassroots experience and knowledge to provide tailored support to the most disadvantaged in London. The aim is to equip beneficiaries with the training and employment opportunities that they need to be able to move closer or indeed into the labour market.   Match funding is being provided by a number of London boroughs and so this round will be open to organisations based in the following boroughs: Croydon, Enfield, Lambeth, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. Each borough has invested a different amount of money into the programme and have their own sets of criteria which reflect the priorities of each borough – it is important to note that organisations must be both based in the relevant borough and providing services to constituents of that borough. The application literature is now available to download from the Community Grants website here: http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/aboutus/invitationtotender/esf-programme5boroughs.htm   The deadline for applications is 12 noon on 16th November so there is 6 weeks to submit your application and the anticipated earliest start date for projects will be 29th February 2012.   What help is there for us?
