1) FREE Training: H&F LINk Dignity Champion Training
There are currently two places available for this training on the LINk ‘enter and view’ power on the 23rd of May, 10am - 4pm in Ladbroke Grove.
The H&F LINk Dignity Champions are volunteers who carry out assessment of care homes, hospitals, day centres, home care providers and other services to make sure people are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

2) Free Training – Expert Patient Service – only a few places left
The expert patient service is open to people who:
· Live in Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea or Westminster (or are registered with a GP in the area)
· Have a long-term health condition (e.g. heart disease, diabetes, depression, asthma, cancer, or any other condition)
There are only a few places left for the first programme taking place at the Irish Centre, Hammersmith. The second programme will be at White City Community Centre from 12th July – 16th August.
Courses take place over six weeks with one half day or evening session each week:
The programme includes:
· Healthy lifestyle advice including diet and exercise
· Managing pain, fatigue and stress; relaxation techniques
· Better communication with family, friends and health professionals
Meet other people in a friendly environment, learn new skills to have a healthier life, share your experiences and ideas.
Courses are free and run in local, accessible venues.

3) Training/PPI in Commissioning – Self Directed Support Service – We Need Your Help
· Do you live in Hammersmith & Fulham or Kensington and Chelsea?
· Do you have knowledge or experience of personal budgets and self-directed support?
· Do you have availability for training during the week of June 4th?
· Do you also have availability to interview prospective providers during the week of June 11th?
If the answer is YES to all the above questions, please help us to choose a suitable provider(s) to run the new Self-Directed Support services locally. 4) Opportunity – LINk representative needed for CLCH (Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust) Quality Stakeholder Reference Group.
Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) is looking for a H&F LINk representative for their Quality Account Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG). This group was established in 2011 for the purpose of informing the development of the Quality Account. This group now also undertakes more generalised external stakeholder involvement in the work of CLCH, one element of which is to provide an ongoing scrutiny and assurance function for the delivery of the quality improvement priorities as set out in the Quality Account.
The CLCH Quality Account Stakeholder Reference Group is involved in the development of the Quality Account by:
- Examining the emerging themes from the analysis of the data collected and advising on three to five priority areas that should be the focus of quality improvements over the coming year, to be highlighted in the Quality Account
- Advising on the tools (eg surveys) and specific indicators (eg specific questions) by which data should be collected to ensure that the priority areas are being appropriately measured
- Providing an assurance function in overseeing the inclusion of all mandated sections within the document
- Leading the provision of formal statements from their wider stakeholder groups, for inclusion in the published document, once a final draft is available for circulation
- Advising on elements of the Quality Account accessibility and design, which will include: use of plain English (where possible, outside of mandated statements), titles, fonts, document format and layout, palette, images and general look/feel/tone
- Advising on communication channels to be used to effectively distribute the full Quality Account and key messages to external stakeholders.
It is essential for those who are accountable for the delivery of the improvement priorities to have a complete understanding of the requirements of those to whom they are accountable, patients and the public. As a LINk representative you would need to undertake the above and be available to attend monthly SRG meetings. As representative of wider stakeholder groups, it will be expected that members are engaged in two-way reporting (to and from the SRG and their wider groups) so as to provide authentically representative feedback throughout the process.

5) Consultation - Feedback on Adult Congenital Heart Disease Service
The NHS has launched the next phase of a review into adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) services, initiating a period of engagement to gather the views of patients and their families, NHS staff, clinicians and other groups to help shape services in the future.
Over the last few months an expert Advisory Group of clinicians, commissioners and patient representatives has been working together to explore potential improvements to the service. The Advisory Group has developed a proposed network model for delivering specialist ACHD care and draft national designation standards that specialist centres would need to meet in the future. We are now inviting stakeholders to comment on the proposed designation standards and the draft model of care.

6) Information - Shaping a Healthier Future
Shaping a Healthier Future is a programme set up to improve healthcare for the two million people living in North West London. The third edition of the Shaping a healthier future newsletter includes an update on progress in developing plans to improve out-of-hospital care, the process to develop options to take to public consultation this summer. You can also read about recent and upcoming engagement events and find out how to contact the programme team and get involved.

Teresa attended her first Steering Group meeting last Wednesday evening and had really valuable insight to offer on including people with learning disabilities in the local ‘Out of Hospital’ strategy.
